Question 1

Is the DJI Osmo Action 6 compatible with accessories?

Accepted Answer

The Osmo Action 6 is compatible with a broad range of optional accessories for mounting and creative capture. The new Macro Lens supports close-range framing of details such as food, plants, or equipment, producing a shallow background blur at close range. The FOV Boost Lens expands the native 155° angle to 182°, capturing handlebars, skis or boards fully within the frame for a more immersive POV perspective. An ND Filter Set is available with ND16, ND32, and ND64 filters for controlling exposure on bright days. Optional accessories for mounting include the DJI Osmo Dual-Direction Mini Extension, DJI Osmo Dual-Direction 360 Degree Wrist Strap, and DJI Osmo Dual-Direction Handlebar Mount, and more.

Question 2

How compact is the DJI Osmo Action 6?

Accepted Answer

The DJI Osmo Action 6 measures 72.8 x 47.2 x 33.1 mm (L x W x H), making it compact enough to fit on helmets, handlebars, or chest mounts. At 149g, it remains light enough for extended use without feeling unbalanced on most rigs. The small footprint also helps when placing the camera in tighter spots, such as inside vehicles or on lightweight arms.

Question 3

How waterproof is the Osmo Action 6, and what should I check before going underwater?

Accepted Answer

Osmo Action 6 is waterproof to 20m without a case and up to 60m when used with the separately available Waterproof Case. Both the camera and its Waterproof Case carry an IP68 rating, meaning they are sealed against dust and water ingress. Before entering the water, you should always close the battery compartment cover and USB-C port cover and consider using the optional DJI Osmo Action 6 Glass Lens Cover to prevent leaks.

Question 4

What can I expect from the Osmo Action 6 screens in bright outdoor light?

Accepted Answer

The Osmo Action 6 features a 1.46-inch front touchscreen with a 342 x 342 resolution at 331 ppi and a typical brightness of 800 cd/m². This front display supports framing and settings checks during self-shooting, which helps with vlogging or helmet-mounted use. On the back, a 2.5-inch touchscreen offers 400 × 712 resolution at 326 ppi, also with 800 cd/㎡ typical brightness and a 1000 cd/㎡ peak. Together, the two OLED screens provide clear previews and responsive touch control from either side of the camera.

Question 5

Which microSD cards work best with the Osmo Action 6, and does it have internal storage?

Accepted Answer

The DJI Osmo Action 6 supports microSD cards up to 1 TB, giving plenty of room for 4K recording and timelapses. DJI recommends U3 A2 V30 microSDXC cards, including the Lexar Professional SILVER PLUS series from 64 GB to 1 TB and Kingston CANVAS Go! Plus cards from 64 GB to 1 TB. These cards are rated for sustained write speeds suitable for high-bitrate video. The camera includes 64 GB of built-in storage, with 50 GB available for recording, so you still have space to shoot even if you forget a card.

Question 6

How long does the battery last, and what are the operating and charging temperature ranges?

Accepted Answer

The Osmo Action 6 uses a Li-ion 1S battery with a capacity of 1950 mAh. Under DJI’s test conditions at 25° C, recording 1080p/24fps (16:9) with RockSteady on, Wi-Fi, Voice Control and Gesture Control off, and the screens off, it can run for up to 240 minutes. Real-world times will vary with resolution, frame rate and stabilisation settings. The battery is rated to operate from -20° to 45° C, so it can handle both cold and warm outdoor conditions. Charging should only take place between 5° and 40° C to help protect the cell and maintain long-term performance.

Question 7

What does the DJI Mimo app add when using the Osmo Action 6?

Accepted Answer

The DJI Mimo app provides a live preview, full remote control of shooting settings, and quick access to resolution, frame rate, and stabilisation options. It supports wireless file transfers and offers editing tools, including one-tap templates and D-Log M colour recovery for graded footage. Users can apply sports data overlays, remove a selfie stick with InvisiStick, and use Focus Peaking when working with accessories such as the Macro Lens. Mimo also handles firmware updates and livestream setup, providing a single place to manage recording, review and sharing.
