Question 1

What’s the difference between the Sony ZV-1 and the ZV-1 II?

Accepted Answer

Sony ZV-1 II vs Sony ZV-1 - which is better? It's the question on everyone's lips when vendors release an upgraded version or 'mark II' of an original product. Whilst the Sony ZV-1 won the prestigious EISA Vlogging Camera 2020-2021 and RED DOT design awards as Sony’s flagship vlogging camera, customer feedback collected over the years prompted Sony to reconsider some design features. Issues found with the ZV-1 included the standard 24mm focal length, lack of touch controls, a thread mount that covered the battery compartment, and no power delivery through the USB terminal.

As a result, the ZV-1 II has an improved 18mm ultra-wide focal length, more touch controls for an intuitive experience that operates like a smartphone, a repositioned mount, and power delivery through the USB-C terminal. It also benefits from a new cinematic setting, My Image Style, animal subject recognition, a microphone with customisable direction, creative looks, and weighs a little less. With this overview of features in mind, the ZV-1 II is the student that became the master, taking lessons from the almost perfect ZV-1.
